Dear Colleagues! I would like to invite you to take part in the First Eurasian Orthopedic Forum. It is remarkable to have such a large-scale event organized in Russia. Our country has always occupied the central contact position between the East and the West, and today this role has increased dramatically. We actively initiate and sustain international cooperation in various aspects of healthcare from the fight against epidemics to the joint development of new medical treatments of cancer and heart diseases. Currently, we are making an important step towards combining our efforts in one more important sphere – trauma and orthopedics.

The core objective of the Russian Public Organization Association of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgeons of the Russian Federation is to consolidate the Orthopedic Society. Over recent years a lot of work has been done in order to strengthen the links with the leading medical centers and societies of trauma and orthopedic surgeons in all regions of the country. We are moreover in the constant interaction with the colleagues from the nearby foreign states. I hope that the outcomes of the First Eurasian Orthopedic Forum will be close collaboration with the national professional associations of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It will undoubtedly become the major milestone in improving the quality of orthopedic assistance to the population of all countries of the Eurasian region.

NIKOLAI VASILIEVICH ZAGORODNY
MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE EOF, HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRAUMATOLOGY AND ORTHOPEDICS IN THE PEOPLES' FRIENDSHIP UNIVERSITY, HEAD OF THE CLINIC OF ARTHROPLASTY IN THE PRIOROV CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF TRAUMA AND ORTHOPEDICS, PRESIDENT OF THE ASSOCIATION OF TRAUMA AND ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS OF MOSCOW, M.D
Eurasia is the largest continent on Earth and home to more than 5 billion people. More than half of all injuries on the planet occur here, so doctors have developed significant experience in their treatment using different approaches, but many of these methods are far from well researched. The idea behind the First Eurasian Orthopedic Forum is to focus on this experience and identify the best practices worthy of replication at the international level.

Of course, the most suitable place for such an important event is the capital of Russia, the largest Eurasian state. There are plenty of top-level medical facilities in Moscow where the most experienced teams of trauma and orthopedic surgeons work. Experts in Moscow use even the most advanced technologies on a practical level, so the Forum will help trigger innovation processes in traumatology and orthopedics not only in Russia and Eurasia, but globally as well.

LEONID KARLOVICH BRIZHAN
MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OF THE FIRST EURASIAN ORTHOPEDIC FORUM, HEAD OF THE TRAUMA AND ORTHOPEDICS CENTER OF THE BURDENKO MAIN MILITARY CLINICAL HOSPITAL, M.D.
It's no secret that the Eurasian vector now dominates development in Russian public life, science, industry, art, and many other areas. Our community has long stuck to the notion that it's time to examine the specific techniques of trauma and orthopedics surgeons from Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region to enrich our own practices, as well study and implement the best practices.

We have also been closely cooperating with European experts and manufactures for many years, and we deeply respect their experience. We are not, however, familiar with Asia and the Middle East, yet these regions have their own reputable medical schools and trauma centers with an extensive system of scientific and practical knowledge. A growing number of products for orthopedics and traumatology from Asian countries have been appearing on the Russian market, and they are garnering more and more attention. So the Eurasian Orthopedic Forum is very much a response to the initiative of myriad medical and public organizations.

It is essential that the Forum focuses on practical aspects so it can serve as common ground for discussing challenging issues and conducting workshops on topical subjects. The event will specifically highlight the Russian segment to help domestic enterprises find their place in the medical market.
